These are the facts that most often change an anaesthetic plan, and having them ready makes the assessment faster and more accurate.
Your medicine list
Everything you take, including remedies bought over the counter, herbal and traditional preparations and supplements — with how often you really take each one.
Your anaesthetic history
Any previous anaesthetic, whether you were sick afterwards, whether you were told anything was difficult, and any serious reaction in your family.
Your recent health
Any fever, cough, cold, vomiting or diarrhoea in the days before the operation, and any new chest pain or breathlessness.
